Sasuga Japanese Academy

Sasuga Japanese Academy is a new language school in the Fairfax County area.  The classes will be conducted only by experienced native Japanese teachers.  Please join us!

1.Tuition:

Tuition will be paid through online payment. Please contact us via email if you prefer to pay by check. Each class has different tuition. For Private/Small Group Lessons, please refer to its price list on this page.

2. Registration:

Registration will open two months before the semester starts. Please register online.

3. Registration fee: 

Registration fee is NOT refundable even in case of cancellation.

4. Textbooks:  

For the adult class, students need to purchase their own textbook prior to the class.  Sasuga Japanese Academy will NOT distribute/sell the textbooks. The textbook "Genki 1" will be used for pre-intermediate class. 

5. Class Confirmation:

You will receive a welcome e-mail a few days prior to the first day of class. 

 

6. Class Size:  

Minimum of 4 students & maximum of 9 students.

7. Cancellation: 

a. Group Lessons

  • Cancellation/refund requests must be received by E-MAIL 7 days prior to the first day of the class for a full refund, or 1-6 days prior to the first day of the class for 50% refund. There will be no refunds after the class starts.

  • Cancellations must be done by contacting Sasuga Academy via email at contact@sasugaacademy.com.

b. Private, Semi-private, and Group of 3 classes 

  • Cancellation/refund requests must be received by E-MAIL 7 days prior to the first day of the class for a full refund, or 1-6 days prior to the first day of the class for 50% refund. There will be no refunds after the class starts.

  • Private, semi-private and small group classes are offered only as a package. Each course consists of 10 lessons.

  • Sasuga Academy does not offer refunds once the first class has been held. Scheduling of lessons can be done by arrangement between the student and the instructor. 

  • Any cancellation of classes must be made at least 24 hours prior, or the lesson will be forfeit and will count as one of the ten lessons in the package.  Cancellation of the class more than 24 hours prior will not count as part of the 10-lesson package.

  • Cancellations must be done by phone, email or text to the instructor or by contacting Sasuga Academy via email at contact@sasugaacademy.com.

8. Absence:        

There will be no make-ups or refunds for being absent. 

9. Waiting List Policy:  Students will be placed on a waiting list if the class is full at the time of registration. Students   will be notified if they are on a waiting list and when (and if) space becomes available.  If a space does not become available, Sasuga Japanese Academy will refund any tuition payments made unless the student is placed in another class.  

  

10. Class Cancellation due to emergencies or inclement weather:

We will notify all students at least a few hours prior to the class starting time by E-Mail. Make-up classes will be held usually after the last week of classes. Please ask your instructor about specific dates. The instructor may schedule a make-up class by discussing the optimal date with the class.

11. Class Cancellation due to low enrollment:

If a class has fewer than 4 registrations, it will be cancelled. If this happens, you will receive a full refund.

12. For students age 15:

Though Adult in-person classes are open to students who are 14 -15 years, and older, 14 -15-year-old students must be accompanied by an adult to and from class. For regular online group lessons, a student has to be at least 15 years of age or older. 

13. Level Placement:

We don’t have placement tests.  Those who are not sure about their level, please contact us via  Email.
